The Ultimate in Residential Elevators

Unlike traditional home elevators, Stiltz Home Elevators are freestanding and require no hydraulics or supporting walls. Like any major appliance, our residential elevators run on a standard dedicated 220 volt 15 amp wall outlet.
Eliminating the need for a shaft, the home lifts travel ‘through the floor’ on self-supporting dual rails. Each Stiltz home elevator includes top-of-the-line safety features that allow the user to stay mobile, even during a power outage!
Typically, it takes just 30 seconds to move between floors with a Stiltz Home Elevator. Our products are multi-functional, you can also use them for carrying heavy luggage and laundry. They can even accommodate the family pet!
Our residential elevators provide homeowners with a great way of ‘future-proofing’ their house and can add value to your home.
FAQ
A Stiltz Homelift is a smart investment for anyone who wants to enhance their quality of life and maintain their personal independence while living in a multi-level home. This innovative home elevator provides a safe and reliable way to move between floors, without the need for stairs or a traditional elevator shaft.
Stiltz Homelifts are designed with a compact footprint, making them a great choice for homes with limited space. Stiltz Homelifts are stylish and modern, with a range of customization options to suit your personal needs. They can add value to your property and make it more attractive to potential buyers in the future.
The simple answer is yes! Our Trio Alta is spacious enough for a person in a standard-sized wheelchair with a caregiver, while keeping to less than 9 sq ft of floor space. The Trio Alta is also ideal for users with a walker or rollator.
Many homeowners choose an elevator for the home to help them stay in their home they love for many years to come when the stairs become more difficult in later life.
The Stiltz Duo Alta home elevator is one of the smallest residential lifts available on the market and has a footprint of less than 6 sq ft. The Trio Alta wheelchair elevator has a footprint of just under 9 sq ft.
The beauty of the Stiltz Elevator is that it can be installed in almost any place in a two-story home. Most commonly the lift passes through the floor into an upstairs bedroom. They can also be installed in the turn of a staircase, or up to a second floor landing. We have even installed them inside existing closets!
Stiltz elevators are powered by an electric winding drum system that is neatly self-contained in the top of the lift itself – entirely hidden from view. No separate machine room required. Our elevators run on a standard dedicated 220v wall outlet, and under normal use, require about as much electricity as a dishwasher.
Every Stiltz homelift comes with two battery-powered remote controls – one for upstairs, one for downstairs, so you can call the elevator from any floor, at any time. The controls inside the cab are simple and easy to see. The lift can also be locked so that no one else can use it – good for when the grandkids are around!
Not at all! That’s why we’re called Stiltz, after all. Our elevators travel on freestanding, self-supporting rails – our “stilts” – which means no supporting walls or expensive elevator shafts are necessary.
All Stiltz homelifts are equipped with a battery backup. If the power should fail for any reason, the battery backup allows the lift to glide gently to the lower level so the user can exit the elevator until the power returns.
Because our lifts are not powered by hydraulics, which are typically quite noisy, Stiltz home elevators are very quiet – in fact, quieter than many stairlifts.
Very little construction work is involved for a standard home elevator installation. Once it has been decided where the lift is going to be installed, all that is then required is for the appropriate hole to be made in the ceiling for the lift to pass through between floors. This work will be conducted by one of our trained Stiltz Authorized Dealers.
Our lifts are only installed by an Authorized Stiltz Dealer. Once the hole in the ceiling has been prepared for the elevator, a standard installation will usually take one to two days.
We take great pride in the fact that Stiltz home elevators are extremely safe. All our products include height, weight and out-of-balance sensors, as well as an emergency stop button. There is also a fall arrest mechanism in place, a key switch that allows users to turn the elevator off for safety reasons, and a floor lid that fills the opening when the elevator is in a downstairs position. (This lid is even strong enough to walk on!) Finally, obstruction sensors will immediately stop the lift if there is anything below the cab, or resting on the floor lid above.
For our smaller Duo Alta, we offer either a half or full height door as standard with every order. Our larger Trio Alta homelift is available in both a single entry and a “thru-car” option, which has two separate entry and exit doors. Half or full height doors are also available.
Stiltz Duo Alta home elevators have a maximum load capacity of 375 lbs. The Stiltz Trio Alta wheelchair elevator carries up to 550 lbs. Each model is fitted with overload safety sensors that prevent the lift from leaving a landing if overloaded.
The simple answer is yes. All Stiltz home elevators feature LED lights at the top and bottom of the car for ease of use at night.
A Stiltz homelift is well-engineered and sturdy, but like any major appliance, it requires regular servicing to keep it in top working order at all times. We recommend that a Stiltz home elevator be serviced once a year by a trained Stiltz Authorized Dealer to make sure that it functions properly and all safety features are working correctly.
Every Stiltz home elevator includes a 24-month parts warranty.
